We met pretty oddly.
Allison and Tyler met in February 2008 at an anti-Scientology protest in Nashville, Tennessee. At that time, they only knew each other as Juche and Nixon, but it didn't take long for all of the members of Nashville Anonymous to get to know each other really well. One night in the Nashanon Skype chat, Tyler took the initiative and asked Allison if she'd like to go on a date. Allison, having had a few questionable relationships, was hesitant to accept, but Tyler was pretty nice, so she replied with 'why the hell not.' Tyler, despite not knowing exactly what the intention behind that statement was, moved forward with date plans. They became Facebook official on October 18, 2009 and had moved in with each other by the end of that year.
They bought a house together in September 2010 right after Allison started her job as a cancer research nurse and Tyler started his job in the information technology department at a large corporation. Tyler accepted his new position of dog-father to Bellamy and, to a lesser extent, Zoë, and in June 2012, they adopted their first dog-child together, Freya.

After three years and one month...
In May 2011 when Allison took Tyler to meet her paternal Grandma in California, Allison's Grandma gave them her wedding set to be used for their engagement. Tyler kept it hidden in a box on his desk until November 18, 2012 when he proposed by writing a batch file that took Allison around the house for a scavenger hunt to find the clues to type into his laptop to get to the next step. The last step told Allison that there was something odd in one of the closets in the house, so she looked in every closet, even walking past the closet where Tyler had been hiding with the ring. When she opened the door, the fact that he was in there scared the sweet bejeezus out of her and she jumped back into the next room screaming before he could properly ask her.
She didn't realize until an hour later that she never actually said yes, but apparently he didn't need an actual answer. She was just sad she didn't say 'why the hell not.'
